Whitman's grave: Camden, NJ - Harleigh Cemetary

Whitman's grave marker
I depart as air, I shake my white locks
At the runaway sun,
I effuse my flesh in eddies, and drift it
In lacy jags.
I bequeath myself to the dirt to grow
from the grass I love.
If you want me again look for me under
your boot soles.

finding myself fighting off the possessors of
the man’s works for their own vainglory or profit,
this kindly and beautiful accolade allowed
me to reconnect with his true spirit.
Walt Whitman has found his
electronic temenos here.
