Testing: The university’s COVID testing program ended on May 16, 2023. All COVID test centers are closed. Reporting of positive test results is no longer required.

Face coverings: are no longer required in most indoor spaces but are welcomed; they are no longer broadly required of faculty, staff, students, and visitors in all clinical settings

Vaccinations

Primary series of COVID-19 vaccines are required of all Rutgers students and employees who have not been granted a medical or religious exemption by the university and are eligible to receive them. As of May 16, 2023, booster doses will no longer be required unless an individual falls within the definition of a “Covered Individual” set forth in University Policy 100.3.1. Upload proof of vaccination and boosters (if required) to the vaccine portals.

Mental Health and Wellness well-being resources are available to assist students and employees. Student support and guidance services are at CAPS or UBHC. Rutgers staff, faculty, and their families can seek services through Rutgers4U. My Wellness app for employees is available through the myRutgers portal.

Updated Masking Requirements for Clinical Settings

As COVID-19 cases continue to decline, Rutgers Health is updating its masking guidelines for clinical settings. Wearing a face covering is no longer broadly required of all faculty, staff, students, and visitors in all clinical settings.

Updated Spring 2023 Health and Safety Protocols

The university continues to monitor the relevant health and safety data associated with COVID-19, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), and Seasonal Influenza (Flu). The current positive data reflect substantial improvement and stability and allow us to institute a relaxation in our operating protocols.
