This reading was by far the most sad, I couldn’t help but picture Walt- old, grey and worried about how history would judge him. It seems miles away from the strong cocky guy we met on the cover of the first edition of “Leaves of Grass.” The interview did seem a little contrived, but I feel like it was probably hard for someone like Walt Whitman to turn off his persona and just be candid.
