Where Tillary Street Got It’s Name
Tillary Street- Named for Dr. James Tillary (1756-1818), a noted physician during the Colonial period. Born and educated in Scotland, Tillary proved invaluable for the medical service he rendered during New York’s yellow fever epidemics in 1795 and 1798.
